EMERGENCY services were called after a car was on fire on the M62 at Rainhill Stoops.
The fire and rescue service attended at around 4pm as a vehicle was ablaze on the motorway near to junction seven.
Firefighters spent around half an hour at the scene tackling the flames.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were called at 4pm to a car alight.
"The fire was extinguished at 4.21pm and we left the scene at 4.28pm.
"The police were calso called to the scene."
