A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after she was hit by a taxi near a superstore car park close to St Helens town centre.
The collision happened near to Lidl on King Street on Wednesday afternoon, April 20.
It is understood the vehicle involved was a taxi and that it drove off from the scene.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital due to her injuries. It is understood she has been discharged and is continuing her recovery at home.
Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses and information.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We are appealing for information following an incident in St Helens earlier this week.
"We received a report of a collision on King Street involving a vehicle and a female pedestrian at around 3.40pm on Wednesday, April 20.
"It was reported that the collision took place near to the car park of Lidl.
"The driver failed to stop at the scene.
"Following the incident, the pedestrian attended hospital for an injury to her leg.
"CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing."
