POLICE say they stepped up quad bike patrols of officers in "anti-social hotspots"
Officers in St Helens taregeted areas of the town which they said have seen "nuisance gatherings" and the "illegal use of off road bikes".
Police conducted quad bike patrols of areas on Thursday, April 21, which included around Chain Lane Shopping Precinct and The Dream statue in Sutton Manor.
The Star has reported on recent issues of anti-social behaviour in areas of the borough.
On Thursday, police in St Helens said: "Our police quads are out tonight, currently around the Blackbrook and Haresfinch areas.
"The officers will be patrolling our anti-social hotspots for nuisance gatherings and illegal use of off road bikes working alongside our other community officers."

Later in the evening, they added: "Our officers are currently patrolling around the Dream site at Bold and earlier attended at Chain Lane shops and surrounding playing fields.
"We will continue to monitor our hotspot locations throughout the shift."
