RESIDENTS can learn all about the companies and factories that made St Helens into an industrial town.
The Smithy Heritage Centre, on Kiln Lane, Eccleston, has launched its new season, 'The Making of St Helens'.
The exhibition launched over the Easter weekend, and will be on show through until September.
Joint curator at the Smithy, Joanne Chamberlain said: "The new exhibition is entitled 'The Making of St Helens' and is looking at the companies and factories that made St Helens into an industrial town.
"We would love any stories, photographs or objects that we could include in the exhibition."

She added that among those mentioned in the exhibition are Pilks, Beecham's, the coal industry and of course the smaller business' that were once part of the landscape in St Helens.

The venue is open at weekends, from 1pm to 4pm, with free admission.
