A GRASSROOTS football club are continuing their pledge to complete a year of fundraising for Willowbrook Hospice this season.
After a number of fundraising efforts from Penlake Celtic under 10s, the dedicated team will be taking on the challenge to climb Mount Snowdon later this month.
Taking place on Thursday, April 14, the young footballers will climb the 1,085-metre mountain in aid of Willowbrook Hospice, as well as directing funds towards the general running of the club.
At the start of the season, the Celtics committed to a year of fundraising for Willowbrook and have raised money through their summer football tournament as well as a charity walk up Billinge Hill.
Raising more than a thousand pounds through their efforts, the boys have raised vital funds for the hospice and afforded themselves a set of winter jackets and waterbottles - each emblazoned with Willowbrook's logo on them.
With Willowbrook caring for many families associated with Penlake, coaches, players and parents in the under 10s team decided on the year of fundraising to "give something back".

Marc Harrison, manager of the under 10’s team where his son also plays, said:
"The lads have loved the fundraising events and it's been good to boost team spirit, teach them about the charity and keep them grounded."
After dropping off a cheque at Willowbrook's Living Well hub in Eccleston, Marc said it was an "eye-opener" for the youngsters to see how their fundraising helps the hospice run its end-of-life care for patients in St Helens and Knowsley.
