MERSEYSIDE'S science and discovery centre Imagine That! is gearing up to bring some Easter fun to the spring break.

The venue at Wavertree Technology Park, Liverpool - which can be accessed by train from St Helens -  will be hosting Easter bingo and Easter egg hunts to get everybody in the mood.

And children will be kept busy with all the usual activities, including playing in the huge vats of gooey slime in the Slime Factory.

The three-hour guided journey means there is more than enough fun to be had, so kids will be happy no matter how many times they return during the two weeks.

Manager Aly Fielding said the team is looking forward to having things back to normal this Easter after being closed due to Covid last year.

She said: “It’ll be great to really enjoy the Easter holidays now restrictions have been lifted.

St Helens Star:

“Our outdoor area will be open again (weather permitting) from the start of the Easter holidays so we’re hoping there’s some sunshine in store.

“The kids love the outdoor activities and the area just adds an extra dimension to the visit.”

The centre will also welcome youngsters to play in massive tubs of squishy slime in the Slime Room, which reopened in October last year.

As well as getting messy in the slime tubs, budding scientists can keep busy in the Bright Sparks science area.

Don’t miss a visit to the snow room, where little ones can see ‘snow’ form in front of their eyes amid a flurry of snowflakes.

Kids will take home a pot of ‘snow’, as well as a souvenir photo, a painted fridge magnet, a tub of slime and any prizes they may win in the Easter activities.

A visit to the Imagination Village will kick off the journey, where children can enter a world of imagination by dressing up as anything from vets, chefs and construction workers to shopkeepers or superstars.

Another highlight is the real car to paint in the Artbeatz zone, as well as the chance for youngsters to make their own spin art, become a giant pin art sculpture and pose in front of the digital graffiti screen.

St Helens Star:

The second half of the visit will include 45 minutes in the science area (with its popular snow room) and the day is rounded off with a visit to the Slime Factory with shows, workshops, slime tubs and the chance to win a prize at the Easier Bingo.
