A SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD boy who breached an order banning him from parts of St Helens town centre has been jailed.
 
The teenager was sent to custody for four months at Merseyside Youth Court on Tuesday, March 29.
 
The boy received the order for numerous offences after he repeatedly terrorised businesses and members of the local community in St Helens town centre.
 
This included possession of an offensive weapon, drugs anti-social behaviour, violence, assault, breach of a curfew and theft of a pedal cycle and shop.
 
The yob's latest breach was on Friday, March 25, when he was seen on Corporation Street in St Helens coming from the bus station, then turning onto Parade Street.

He was later cautioned and arrested by an officer for the offence. 

The boy cannot be identified for legal reasons due to his age.

Inspector Stacey Pope said: "Thanks to our work with  St Helens Safer Communities, The Youth Offending Service and CPS a teenager who terrorised members of the community and committed several offences over many years has been sentenced. 
 
“I’d like to thank our officers and those who were involved in successfully detaining this male so that he can no longer cause fear or harm in St Helens.
 
“We hope this result ensures the safety of our residents and anyone who works in this area from this offender repeated crimes.
 
“Our actions to successfully arrest this boy and return him to court for sentencing shows our continued commitment to robustly deal with any offenders who have a negative impact on the community.
