WOMEN in St Helens, Leigh and Wigan interested in rugby league are invited to an event celebrating their passion for, and involvement in the sport.
On Saturday, March 12, to mark International Women's Day, people can hear historian Dr Victoria Dawson at The Museum of Wigan Life tell stories from women’s rugby league history, and join other ladies in sharing rugby league memories.
Dr Victoria Dawson is an honorary research associate at University College London.

She said: "Perhaps you’ve still got that scarf your nan made you when you were a girl, or the ticket to the first match you went to? Bring it along and discuss what makes rugby league special to you over a cuppa and a biscuit.
"Have an exclusive guided tour around the Gerrumonside! exhibition with museum staff. Share your opinions and help shape the future of rugby heritage projects, so that we can 'Break The Bias' and make sure women are always at the heart of rugby league heritage."
- The event is suitable for all ages. Booking is preferred but not essential. Call 01942 828128 or email wiganmuseum@wigan.gov.uk to book.
