SECURITY fencing has been placed around a listed building in St Helens town centre after it came under attack from vandals.
The former Counting House pub in Hardshaw Street had windows shattered earlier this month.
The empty building, a former bank which is Grade ll listed, is under the ownership of food and drink venue entrepreneur Ian Pitts who wants to develop a hotel on land at the rear of the property.
It is the latest building to be targeted by vandals.
The Star has reported on the anger of towns people after the historic Friends Meeting House in the George Street Quarter was damaged by youths.
It is understood a number business and property owners are becoming increasingly concerned by the damage and general anti-social behaviour on evenings in the town centre.
