Olly Murs has cancelled his upcoming summer shows after undergoing “major knee surgery” this week.
The host of ITV’s talent show Starstruck has said the operation went well but admitted he was “gutted” to be cancelling his tour.
A performance at Haydock Park in August is among those which will not take place.
Sharing a series of images following his operation, Murs, 37, said: “I am gutted to have to write this message but unfortunately I’ve had to undergo major new knee surgery again this week.
“Been trying my best to avoid having it done but the op was needed and it went well.
“I’m recovering in hospital but it means I’m having to cancel all my summer shows this year whilst I focus on my rehab.”
Haydock Park statement and advice
Ticket holders will be offered the opportunity to exchange their tickets for an e-voucher to attend another music night or racing fixture of their choice, or can request a refund.
Dickon White, Jockey Club Racecourses’ North West Regional Director said: “It’s a great shame that Olly won’t be performing at Haydock Park this summer for all his fans.
"We wish him our very best wishes for a speedy recovery.
"However, we are still very much looking forward to welcoming Paloma Faith and Madness to the racecourse for what are sure to be two fantastic evenings of racing and music.”
The Jockey Club Live will be welcoming a host of household names to the North West this summer across Haydock Park and Aintree Racecourses. The below shows are unaffected by this cancellation, with tickets on sale now:
10th June – Nile Rodgers & CHIC – Aintree Racecourse
1st July – Paloma Faith – Haydock Park Racecourse
16th July – Madness – Haydock Park Racecourse
