SUPPORTERS heading to watch Saints vs Wakefield Trinity on Friday night are being reminded of parking options.

Free parking is available at all St Helens Council operated surface car parks and on-street pay and display bays from 5.45pm.

The only chargeable council-operated car park is the Tontine multistorey carpark in Exchange Street – which normally closes shortly after Church Square Shopping Centre at 6pm.

St Helens Star:

The council has produced a map highlighting areas to park

This will be accessible throughout the season at a charge of £1.50 per vehicle (payable at the P&D machines by cash or card), which the council says is to cover operating costs.

The council states: "Pedestrian access from/to Tontine car park will be via the external staircase only on Chalon Way, making this an unsuitable car park for anyone with mobility problems.

"Tontine car park will be locked promptly at 11pm.

"Any vehicles remaining on Tontine car park after this time will be securely locked in overnight and can be collected from 8am the following morning at no extra charge."

Free parking offer does not apply at the World of Glass Museum, close to the stadium, which is operated privately.
