THE FAMILY of Adam Smith have spoken about the life of a much-loved man after his body was found by police earlier this month.
Adam Smith, who was from Great Sankey in Warrington but had links to St Helens and family in Rainhill, was last seen on Friends Lane in Warrington at around 3.15pm, January 27.
After a two-week "round the clock" search, Cheshire Police confirmed that a body found at Fiddler's Ferry in Warrington on Saturday, February 12, was identified as Adam's.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a case file is being prepared for the coroner.
After the sad news of Adam's passing, his family have shared a touching tribute of the father-of-two's life:
“Adam was such a loving, happy, funny and at times mischievous child; growing up to become a very sociable young man. He loved to make people laugh with his great sense of humour, wit and was forever the joker.
"He loved to party, had many friends, but also had a passion for the great outdoors, most recently exploring Moel Famau. He was passionate about dogs and also took an interest in Motorcross.
"Adam adored his younger siblings, being the typical protective big brother over his sister Ellie and being more of a best mate to his little brother Alex, who would love to wind Adam up at times.
"Adam’s proudest achievement in life was becoming a dad to his two beautiful daughters Daisy and Alexa, whom he loved to spend time with and cherished with all of his heart.
"We will miss him with all of our being and not a day will pass where his presence isn’t missed. As a family, we are distraught and would give anything to have him home with us where he belongs. Knowing he was so loved and cherished by all of his family and friends is a massive comfort.
"We are overwhelmed by the support shown from Rainhill Rocks (who helped to share the search of Adam), the local community and beyond since Adam was reported missing and we want to take this opportunity to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
"We also want to greatly thank Cheshire search and fire rescue, the fire service and all of the Cheshire police officers involved who searched tirelessly for Adam and for their continued support to us throughout this difficult time."
