TICKETS go on sale today, Saturday, for a music festival celebrating the north of England's rich musical history at Sherdley Park next summer.

Taking place on Saturday, July 16, Northern Love is a new, boutique festival coming to the calendar in 2022.

Rising-up amidst the expansive grounds of Sherdley Park, the one-day event will be inviting revellers to enjoy a full day of great live music and good feelings in the heart of the north.

Already planning a triumphant “second coming”, Northern Love will be headlined by St Helens’ very own The Clone Roses.

Fresh from conquering Spike Island: The Resurrection to a sell-out capacity last year, in 2022 Gav, Tony, Baggy and Phil will be bringing it all back home to the crowd that has adored them from the very beginning.

From “One Love” to “10 Storey Love Song”, expect the Clones to say it with Roses when they win hometown hearts all over again with a greatest hits set made for the masses.

A love-letter to the North’s rich musical history, the festival will also be hosting a flight of top-tier tribute acts to perform throughout the day.

Live sets from cream-of-the-crop cover acts including Oas-is, Courtbetweneers, The Smiths Ltd, Happy Mondaze, True Order, Buzzcocks, The Charlatunes, Transmission: The Sound of Joy Division, The Rolling People: Verve Tribute will be reminding audiences exactly why bands from the North of England are so loved across the globe.

Also, flying the flag for one of the North-West’s most beloved acts, Inspiral Carpets originals Clint Boon and Tom Hingley will both be making appearances at the festival.

The Inspirals organ grinder-in-chief and legendary XS Manchester presenter, Clint will be lining-up Northern classics the only way he knows how, in one of his typically characterful DJ Sets. Whereas Hingley (the lead singer with Inspiral Carpets between 1989-2011) will be performing sensational Inspirals hits aplenty, from “This is How it Feels” to “Saturn Five”, when he takes to the stage with his current band: The Kar-pets.

And it won't not just the bands keeping the Sherdley audience entertained. Harking back to that legendary Summer of Love, the Acid House-era and all of the world-beating dance music that grew out of the 'Madchester' boom, Northern Love will be hosting an enviable roster of classic DJs to keep the St Helens crowd dancing all day.

Long-loved Manchester-based electronic duo - K-Klass - will be igniting the masses with seminal cuts like “Let Me Show You” and “Rhythm Is A Mystery”.

Meanwhile Rozalla, the Zambian-born and North-west embraced, soulful/house superstar behind chart-topper “Everybody’s Free” will be reminding the crowds just why she’s rated as one of Billboard’s Top 100-ranked most successful dance artists of all-time. 808 State and Dust Junkys mouthpiece MC Tunes will be giving the Madchester era the ultimate shout-out with his inimitable rap and spoken word stylistics.

Plus, all-time Hacienda hero Jon Da Silva, Pacha pin-up Pete Walshe, and Manchester-scene staple Dave Sweetmore will be sounding the klaxons for the golden days of club culture as they lay down unmissable sets on the wheels of steel throughout the day.

It is said Nothern Love will be "a festival that’s all about loving the North and its Northerners alike".

There will also be a curated selection of street food traders offering a premium array of delicacies, to bespoke beer tents offering ales, brews and beverages around, with further details on all of these in the months to come.

And for those who like a little extra gitter with their festival experience, an exclusive VIP area will also be on-site offering exclusive DJ sets and much, much more.

Tickets for Northern Love Festival 2022 will go on sale from Saturday, December 11, priced from just £28.50, plus booking fee.
