POLICE made an arrest after a man was attacked with a hammer and had a substance thrown at him in a disturbance which started outside a pub.
Officers attended after violence broke out outside the Red Lion pub in Robins Lane, Sutton on Monday evening, November 29 at around 7.45pm.
The disturbance began outside the pub and then escalated into surrounding roads.

A police spokeswoman said it was reported that a hammer was used and substance was thrown at the victim during the assault.
A 32-year-old man from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody while inquiries continue.
Both the victim and the suspect received treatment at hospital for wounds, police say.
