With the emergence of the new Omicron Covid-19 variant and Christmas approaching, many people will be worried about going out to do their festive food shop.
To help you maintain social distancing and avoid queues, we have rounded up the quiet times for you to go to the major Supermarkets in St Helens.

Here is a list of the major supermarkets in St Helens town centre and when it is best to visit them:
Asda Superstore
Where: Kirkland St, St Helens WA10 2EF
Opening times: Monday - Saturday 6am - 12am, Sunday 10.30am - 4.30pm
Busiest times: Monday to Friday, 11am - 4pm looks like the peak time for visiting Asda.
On weekends, it tends to get busy from 11am until around 5pm, so it is probably best to avoid doing a shop on a weekend if you want to avoid the crowds.
Quietest times: Mornings until 11am and evenings from 6pm.
Tesco Extra
Where: St Helens Linkway, Saint Helens WA9 3AL
Opening times: Monday - Saturday 6am - 12am, Sunday 11am - 5pm
Busiest times: Monday to Friday, 11am - 3pm is the busiest time for visiting Tesco.
On weekends, it tends to get busy from 11am until around 6pm, so it is advisable to do your shop early morning, late or night or in the week.
Quietest times: Weekday mornings from 6am - 9am and evenings from 7pm are the quietest times.
On Saturday, it is quiet until 10am and then again after 6pm.
Sundays tend to be quite busy until 4pm due to reduced opening hours, and the peak time is around 1pm.

Saturdays between 11am and 4pm at busiest, and Sunday's peak times are 11am, 1pm and 2pm.
Quietest times: Weekdays are much quieter than weekends, but the quietest periods are early in the morning until 10am, and later at night from 6pm.

Busiest times: The busiest time during the week at Morrisons is around 11am - 3pm.
Saturday is busy from 11am until around 5pm and Sunday's peak times are between 11am and 3pm.
Quietest times: Weekdays are quiet from around 7am - 11am and then after 6pm.
On weekends, it is best to get there before 10am or after 5pm to avoid the crowds.
Lidl
Where: King St, St Helens WA10 2JZ
Opening times: Monday - Saturday 8am - 9pm, Sunday 10am - 4pm
Busiest times: Peak times on a weekday are from around 12pm until about 4pm.
Weekends get quite busy, with the busiest periods from 11am - 5pm.
Quietest times: Weekdays aren't too busy at Lidl, but if you're looking for no queues at all then it is best to avoid lunchtimes and afternoons from 12pm - 4pm.
Sundays are quiet from 10am - 11am and after 3pm.
