THE swimming pool at Queens Park Leisure Centre has been closed for the weekend due to "structural concerns" over the roof.
Leisure provider for St Helens Council, Go Active announced the closure via its social media pages on Friday, calling it a "precautionary measure".
The pool, sauna and steam room have been closed at the Boundary Road venue.
In a statement Go Active said: "Due to unforeseen structural concerns of the roof over the poolside at Queens Park Health and Fitness, we have been advised to temporarily close the pool, sauna and steam room as a precautionary measure.
"Contractors have been initiated and once we have more information we will provide updates.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

Go Active later added that an update will be provided on Monday, November 22.
A further statement read: "The swimming pool, sauna and steam room will remain closed over the weekend.
"We will post further updates on Monday afternoon."
St Helens Council confirmed on Saturday the temporary closure is due to a "loose trim" on the ceiling of the pool hall.
The council said: "The pool at Queens Park Health & Fitness is temporarily closed due to a loose trim on the pool hall ceiling.
"The gym and classes are all open. We're sorry for the inconvenience and hope to have the pool opened soon."
