POLICE have given an update on their investigation into a stabbing which left an 18-year-old man in a critical condition.
The attack happened on Thomas Drive, Prescot, in the early hours of Monday, October 25.
On Tuesday police investigating the stabbing charged a 16-year-old boy from Prescot with attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon.
Two 15-year-old boys, from Rainhill, who were arrested on suspicion of wounding on Wednesday, have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries, police have confirmed.

Meanwhile, a 16-year-old from Whiston was also arrested on Wednesday evening in connection with the stabbing and he has also been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
The 16-year-old boy from Prescot, who had been charged with attempted murder and possession of a bladed weapon following the incident, appeared at Merseyside Youth Court on Wednesday, October 26.
He was remanded in custody.
