A SUSPECT has been charged with GBH in connection with an assault in which boiling water is alleged to have been thrown at a man.
Police were called to a report of an assault on Peter Street, St Helens at around 4.30pm on Saturday, October 23.
A substance, believed to have been boiling water, was reportedly thrown at a man, who suffered serious injuries to his face and neck.
The fire and rescue service and ambulance also attended the scene.
Firefighters carried out first aid to the man at the scene, who was taken to hospital by North West Ambulance.

Liam Andrew Coatsworth, of Peter Street, St Helens has been charged with grievous bodily harm (section 18 assault) in connection with the incident.
Coatsworth, 28, was due to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Tuesday, October 26.
