FOOTBALL fans across the region have been the opportunity to be a part of next year's UEFA Women’s EURO tournament.
Leigh Sports Village will play host to a number of fixtures in next July's games, which will see 16 nations competing across the country to win the highly-coveted trophy.
With more than 700,000 tickets available in Europe's largest women's football event, UEFA and the FA are encouraging fans to apply to become of one the thousands of volunteers which will support the tournament and ensure everything runs smoothly.
With the Euro's intending to drive further support for the burgeoning women's game, volunteers will be tasked with supporting the tournament's day-to-day running, greeting and assisting supporters, and building the atmosphere inside and outside stadiums.
Aiming to attract more than 2,000 volunteers across ten host stadiums – which include Old Trafford and Wembley Stadium – these football fans will be the face of the tournament and "central to the fan experience" by ensuring spectators have the best possible match day experience.
In addition to this, there is also the opportunity to be a Host City Volunteer, who will act as ambassadors for each city, creating a welcoming atmosphere across city centres, fanzones and transport hubs for visiting fans.

"Since London 2012 we've seen huge numbers for volunteers at sports events and this will be no different, helping us to deliver a record-breaking event that inspires positive change in the women’s game, right on our doorstep.”
