Two lanes have now reopened on the M6, after a huge lorry fire caused the closure of a section of the M6 this morning.
North West Motorway Police reported that a large vehicle was ablaze between J20 and J21 - A57 Manchester Road (Woolston) of the M6 northbound.
Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire & Rescue are currently at the scene.
North West Motorway Police said: "Fire and Police are working hard at the scene. We are pleased to inform you that the Driver is NOT injured and we are speaking to them at the scene."
Northbound traffic between the two junctions was temporarily stopped while emergency services dealt with the blaze, which also caused traffic to slow down on the opposite side, causing long delays back to Junction 23 (Haydock).
But North West Motorway Police have now advised the lanes 3 and 4 are back open, with 30mph speed limits in place, as motorists pass the incident point.
