A NEWTON-LE-WILLOWS man has been charged with murder in connection with a shooting.
Detectives charged Reuben Murphy with the murder of Patrick Boyle in Huyton in July this year.
Police were contacted at just after 5.55pm on Thursday, July 1 following reports the 26-year-old had been shot twice in the chest in the street in Newway.
He was taken to hospital where he was sadly confirmed dead a short time later.

Murphy, 25, of Oak Avenue, Newton-le-Willows was arrested on the morning of Thursday, September 30, and has now been charged with murder; possession of a firearm; and possession of ammunition.
Murphy is next due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Friday, October 29.
He has been remanded into custody.
