POLICE are investigating after a woman was sexually assaulted on board a train by a man who also exposed himself.
The incident happened on the Blackpool North to Liverpool Lime Street service on Saturday, August 21.
A man boarded the train at Wigan shortly after 11.30pm and sat next to the victim before starting a conversation.
Police say he then sexually assaulted her and exposed himself before being asked to move from his seat by the train conductor.
The man then returned to sit next to the victim before leaving the train at Edge Hill station.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers believe the man shown in this CCTV image has information which could assist their investigation.
“If you know who he is then contact BTP by sending a text to 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 2100060257.
“Or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
