FAMILIES are invited to Citadel Arts’ In The Street festival, a free day event taking place on Church Street.

On Saturday, September 4 between 10am – 4:30pm, the day promises to be a treat for children of all ages with five family shows on offer to create a thrilling outdoor theatre experience.

Throughout the event, families can help create the “pinkiest pink” in ‘The Lost Colour, make magic out of dance and weather with ‘The Weather Machine’ and celebrate classic rave music and nature in ‘Family Bird Rave Live’.

In addition to this, families can go on a heroic walk about adventure with ‘There be Monsters’ and a singsong about topics all under the Sun in ‘Now That’s What I Call a Lot of Songs About Science.”

After a difficult 18 months without any family events on offer, Citadel Arts have brought together a number of theatre companies and performers like Half a String, The Fabularium, Miss High Leg Kick, Kate Flat Projects and John Hinton.

Daniel Woods, Marketing and Community Projects Manager at Citadel Arts, said: “It’s our first live event since March 2020, which has been a difficult period for everyone.

“We’re coming back with a bang with something for everyone […] and I’m sure it will be a brilliant atmosphere for families.”

Chief Executive, Fay Lamb added: “At Citadel Arts we believe the magic of theatre has the power to change people’s lives.

“After what has been such a difficult period for everyone, we wanted to provide the families of St Helens with a fantastic event with something for everybody.
