DETECTIVES have released CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with an assault in Liverpool city centre.
Between midnight and 1am on Monday, July 12, a 35-year-old man was approached outside Hardy’s Bar on Mathew Street by an unknown male who grabbed him around his neck and bit his face, causing an injury which required stitches.
The attacker then made off.
CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out in the local area.
Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Steven O'Neill said: "This was a nasty and unprovoked assault which left a man needed stitches to his face.
"We have carried out a number of CCTV and witness enquiries. I believe there would have been a number of people in the area of Mathew Street late on that Sunday night or the early hours of Monday morning who may be able to assist us.
"I would ask anyone who recognises the man, or the man himself, to contact us."
