A STAR-STUDDED line-up took to the bowling green for the 2021 edition of the Lol Pennington Memorial Cup.
Ruskin Leisure Centre in Dentons Green again played host to the Barton’s Pickles Johnny Vegas Celeb Bowls event which saw members of the public take on famous faces in a crown green bowling competition.
The charity event was launched by Thatto Heath comedian and actor Johnny Vegas in memory of his dad, Laurence ‘Lol’ Pennington, who died in 2017.

British comedy legend Paul Whitehouse, who became a household name through TV sketch shows The Fast Show and Harry Enfield & Chums, headlined the famous line-up at Ruskin on Sunday.
Prescot actress Sue Johnston, known for her roles in shows including the Royle Family, Coronation Street and Downton Abbey, was also there .
St Helens' own young Coronation star Jude Riordan was also at Ruskin for the event with actor Tim Healy also present from the entertainment world.
Former voice of rugby league on Sky Sports Eddie Hemmings; pundit and former player Barrie McDermott and Sian Gibson from Peter Kay’s Car Share were also among the line-up.
Meanwhile, England international footballer Conor Coady, who grew up in Haydock and was part of the Lions' recent Euro 2020 squad, emerged the eventual winner alongside Jonathan Fenney.
