PLANS have been drawn up to demolish buildings at an industrial estate and create a new one.
Proposals have been submitted for the demolition of existing buildings and the construction of a new employment building at 9-10 Fishwicks Industrial Estate Kilbuck Lane Haydock
Plans also include for a service yard and car parking and associated site works.
A design and access statement, drawn up by Damson Consultancy Ltd, on behalf of the applicant William Fishwick & Son, states: "The current use of the site is as employment building.
"The building has been vacant for the past five years but occasionally let for short term storage".
It adds: "The present buildings have a combined footprint of 795 sq m. Much of the
accommodation is in small rooms and not straightforward to convert to meet modern day requirements.
"The proposals will provide 929 sq m (10,000 sq ft) ground floor accommodation including an area for office and welfare as well as an accessible service yard.
"There would be 100 sqm of first floor office and circulation space".
Plans are on consultation until Friday, August 20 with a determination deadline set for October 25.
