A SHOPWORKER was assaulted and had a fizzy drink bottle thrown at them during an attempted robbery.
Police have issued CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following the incident at Best One convenience store on Gartons Lane in Clock Face which left the staff member "shaken".
At around 10.20am on Sunday, May 30, a man entered the shop and waited for other customers to leave.
He then approached the till, threw a bottle of fizzy drink at a staff member and made demands for cash from the till.
The staff member refused and then a struggle ensued. The staff member, also a man, was assaulted and items in the shop were damaged.
The man then left the shop empty-handed.
