WITH last Friday being National Fish and Chips Day, we asked Star readers on our Facebook to let us know where the best chippies in St Helens are.
And many of you came back with suggestions of the most tasty fish and chip offerings across town.
Here is a list of some of the best recommendations directly from readers.
There were a few shout outs for Fishician on High Street in Newton-le-Willows.
Brian Taylor said:"Fishician High Street Newton nearest thing to chippies in Scarborough and they are great, massive fish and chips and best quality."
Meanwhile, Rainhill Fish and Chips also got some mentions.
Ambili Nuzarath wrote: "Rainhill fish and chips - the best fish and chips in the whole wide world!!!"

The tasty Corner in Dentons Green also received some readers' approval.
Naomiandali Khan said: "Tasty corner by far the best chippy tried a few since moving here".
Haydock Supper Bar was also a popular choice.
Kelly Louise wrote: "Haydock supper bar best by far".
There was also a mention for Marg's chippy, a favourite haunt of many Saints fans on matchdays during the era of Knowsley Road.
Stuart Waine said: "Margs chips near Knowsley Road best by a long shot".
Meanwhile, there were several nominations for Chipmunk, on Boundary Road.
Mary Stott wrote: "Chipmunk Boundary Road very close 2nd Newtown chippy Cambridge Road".
Meanwhile, Chipmunk, on Westfield Street and in Thatto Heath also received mentions.
Robins Lane Chippy was another venue highlighted for praise.
Brian Clough said: "Robins Lane...the fish are huge and every one cooked fresh...used to go to chipmunk...but Robins Lane is better."
John Berry said: "Crispy cod Knowsley road, ( used to be Alfs)".
Hannah Smith said: "Tried Paul's Fishbar for the first time last week...by far the best I've had in St Helens".
Haydock Plaice was also given a mention.
