A MAN is due in court today (Monday) charged in connection with a stabbing in Whiston in which a victim was left with neck wounds.
Edward Doughty, 46, of Stuart House, Whiston was charged yesterday with Section 18 wounding (grievous bodily harm with intent); dangerous driving; and criminal damage.
All charges are connected to an incident at flats off Delph Lane, Whiston, last Tuesday.
The Star reported last week how a huge police presence - including armed officers - was called to the address, a short distance from Whiston Hospital's multi-storey car park.
A victim, aged in his 30s, had suffered stab wounds to his wrist and neck following an alleged attack shortly before 5pm.
Police say the victim remains in hospital in a "stable condition".
Officers say that following “extensive enquiries” a man was arrested in the Kirkby area on Saturday, June 5.
Doughty has been remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court on Monday, June 7.
