SAINTS head coach Kristian Woolf said he is reading nothing into Friday's comfortable victory over Hull FC for when the two sides meet again in the Challenge Cup semi-finals at Leigh Sports Village on Saturday, kick-off 2.30pm.
“We’re expecting a really tough game. It’s a different competition this week and there’s going to be a lot more on the line for both teams,” he said.
“We’d expect nothing less than for Hull to throw themselves into this competition but to really try and make amends for last week as well.
“I’ve read comments from after the game and there’s going to be a different intent from Hull.”
There is precedence to be concerned with as Hull lost to Wigan in Super league but then achieved a win against them in the quarter-finals of the cup.
“They’ll certainly be talking about being able to do the same sort of thing again,” said Woolf.
“The good thing about our performance on the weekend is that while we were happy with it and while we showed a lot of improvement from the weekend before, there’s still a lot of improvement left in us.”
