AN exhibition of photography giving viewers a glimpse into the Drag world - featuring pictures of RuPaul's Drag Race star SISTER SISTER - is currently underway at the World of Glass.
The SISTER-GRAM collection showcases SISTER SISTER’s runway looks from their time on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 alongside fellow contestant Cherry Valentine.
Daniel Cartwright’s photography documents this art whilst elevating it through the lens of high fashion, celebrating the momentously positive impact that RuPaul’s Drag Race has had on the LGBT+ community.
Category is... A Day at the Seaside.
SISTER SISTER’s iconic bag of chips runway look gagged contestants and judges on the main stage of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and is now just one of the outfits on display as part of this exhibition.
Cartwright also explores the diversity of UK drag in his DRAG-UMENTARY collection by giving a platform to queer and trans visionaries who are underrepresented by the mainstream media.
See a different perspective on drag through an exploration of different shapes, sizes, sexualities and genders! Cartwright describes this documentation of the 'underdogs' within the weird and wonderful drag scene as a love letter of acceptance and support, empowering like-minded creatives and inspiring future queer talent across the UK.
The exhibition is available to view now at The World of Glass Museum until Friday, July 2.
The event is free to attend and all profits raised from this exhibition will be donated to Mermaids UK, a charity that supports transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse young people and their families.
