RESIDENTS have been queuing up to get a taste of the famous Burchall's pies as the shop reopened its doors today (Monday, April 19).
There were queues of customers outside the Westfield Street premises this morning as the shop returned to trading.
Last week saw all retail permitted to reopen again under the coronavirus lockdown exit roadmap.
The St Helens pork butchers – known far and wide for its famously juicy pies – welcomed its customers back.
Owner John Burchall was delighted to see familiar faces make a return to the shop.

"It's gone quite smoothly up to now," he said as the Star caught up with him today.
"We've had quite a few people in and it's nice to see people coming back. It's nice to see the older people coming back and to know they are alright."
"People have been queuing up again, I'm happy. It's always a worry when you start up again to see how many people are going to be out in town.
"But everything seems to be going quite smoothly.
"Fingers crossed we can stay open now and don't have to close again. Let's hope."
