TWO friends will be taking on a mountainous challenge in aid of Willowbrook Hospice.

Jack Bolan and Jonathon Ward, both 19, have set themselves an ambitious challenge during the upcoming month of April.

They will be climbing four mountains around the UK, one on each weekend throughout April with their first challenge on Easter Sunday, April 4.

The mountains that they will tackle are Coniston, Helvellyn, Tryfan and finally Snowdon as they look to help the Eccleston park-based hospice.

In total the climbs will consist of more than 12,000 feet, despite the intrepid pair having never undertaken such a fundraising challenge before.

Jack, who works in a lab at Alfred H Knight, said: "We are doing it to raise money for Willowbrook because they have been struggling.

"We thought we just have to do our bit to help them."

Jack, from Clock Face, added: "It's our first time fundraising, we thought we had to do something."

An online fundraising page has been set up for people to support them on their challenge.

The fundraising page adds: "We have recently seen numerous notices regarding the uncertainty of the future of Willowbrook Hospice and we simply cannot sit back and watch because we, personally, have seen and understand the positive impact that Willowbrook Hospice has on those that need their help."
