A PUB has given a glimpse of its renovated beer garden ahead of its scheduled reopening on April 12.

The Star reported last month that Gerard Arms in Dentons Green had announced it was using the lockdown period to refurbish its outside beer garden at the back.

In a video landlord Mark Hayes outlined the changes which are being made to the outside area of the pub.

A new seating area is being created, which will have a heated roof to provide seating in all weathers.

Flowerbeds and artificial turf are being fitted.

Meanwhile, there will be a further seating area outside of the roof with a larger capacity.

Rustic lighting is to be added, with poles situated around the whole beer garden.

A new gate to the beer garden will be created and the existing raised decking area will see new furniture.

The pub has shared some photographs to give a sneak preview of the new-look beer garden ahead of the proposed reopening next month, under the scheduled coronavirus lockdown roadmap.

In a Facebook post, The Gerard Arms said: "We can now confirm that we will be re-opening our beer garden on April 12 and we have been busy.

"For now the plan for outside is first come first served and no pre-bookings.

Any bookings for May 17 onwards will be presumed for indoor dining."
