A DRIVER escaped without serious injuries after a car struck a telegraph pole on a country lane, police say.
The incident happened on Blindfoot Road, Rainford at about 5.15pm on Monday.
Merseyside Police confirmed road closures were in place for several hours last night.

A police spokesperson said: "A silver car collided with a telegraph pole.
"The male driver sustained no serious injuries. Following the incident road closures were in place for several hours on the Blindfoot Road/Mossborough Road junction and on Blindfoot Island."
