STAR readers have paid condolences after the death of a 14-year-old girl who was hit by a car in Blackbrook on Saturday night.
Officers are appealing for witnesses following the fatal collision on Blackbrook Road.
At around 9.50pm on Saturday, September 19, it was reported that a collision involving a car and girl pedestrian had taken place on Blackbrook Road.
Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a 14-year-old girl, was taken to hospital where she sadly died.

Her family have been informed and are being supported at this time, say police.
Two men, aged 18 and 19 have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and they remain in custody for questioning.
Dozens of messages of condolence have been shared by Star readers online and on social media channels following the girl's death.
On the Star's Facebook page, Julie Cunliffe wrote: "Heartbreaking! Broke my heart to pass earlier and see all her friends there in tears! My heart goes out to her family and friends! So very very sad R.I.P Beautiful xx"
Ed Seddon said: "So very sad. Sincere condolences to her loved ones. That road has had too many deaths over the years"
Nic Tracey added: "So sad, parents worst nightmare, thinking of her family and friends. Sleep tight sweetheart x"
Colin Davies wrote: "No words can be enough in situations like this. God bless."

Floral tributes and balloons have been left at the scene of the collision.
Among the poignant tributes at the scene are a pink heart-shaped balloon and a photograph of a group of friends.
Handwritten notes are attached to bouquets of flowers.
One of the messages from a friend read: “RIP we all love you. Fly high princess.”
Another read: “I love you with all my heart and forever will.
“You were the best friend anyone could wish for.”
Another friend added: “I don’t know what I’m going to do without you my girl.”
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, CCTV, or dashcam footage.
