A CAR crashed in Rainhill following a police pursuit.
The chase began after officers became aware of a suspicious vehicle in Widnes shortly before 10pm on Sunday night (August 16).
Officers pursued the car, a black Audi, which had failed to stop for police.
The chase ended up on Hall Lane, Rainhill, where the car was involved in a collision and was abandoned.
A man abandoned the vehicle and made off on foot before being taken to hospital with "minor injuries".

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: "At around 9.50pm on Sunday, August 16 officers became aware of a suspicious vehicle, a black Audi A1, on Wilmere Lane, Widnes.
"The vehicle failed to stop so officers followed the car as it travelled on to Hall Lane, towards Rainhill.
"The car was subsequently abandoned near to Mill Lane and one person fled on foot.
"A 23-year-old man from Middleton was found nearby and taken to hospital with minor injuries; he was discharged a short time later."
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman added: "We have reports of a road traffic collision on Hall Lane at 9.55pm on Sunday believed to be a result of a pursuit which started in Cheshire."
