TWO boys have been sent to a youth offender panel after being sentenced for their roles in a disturbance at Rainhill High School earlier this year.

The Star reported when police were called to the school to reports of a boy with a suspected stab wound on a netball court in the grounds on Monday, March 9.

Emergency services attended and a boy was treated for "a cut to the leg which is described as superficial".

The school confirmed it was put on "lockdown" while police handled the incident and worried parents were gathered outside the school's locked gates as news of the disturbance circulated.

Two boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were sentenced at Merseyside Youth Court.
