RAINHILL featured on BBC Two last night in Monkman & Seagull's Genius Adventures.
The BBC documentary series is presented by University Challenge stars Eric Monkman and Bobby Seagull.
The duo met as rivals on the quiz programme University Challenge.
They have since become friends, co-authors and TV and radio show co-hosts.
The show is a follow on series from 2018's Monkman & Seagull's Genius Guide to Britain.
It follows Eric and Bobby on a road trip around the United Kingdom, time-travelling through a key 150-year period from the Industrial Revolution to the Victorian era.
The duo visited Rainhill train station, to see the site where Stephenson's Rocket won the Rainhill Trials.
They also joined a parade to see a replica of Stephenson's Rocket, which arrived in the village for the 190th anniversary of the Rainhill Trials.
The locomotive established a steam train as the correct choice for the future of the Liverpool to Manchester line 190 years ago at the Rainhill Trials in 1829, which was a competition to decide on the best mode of transport for the railway.
