"Officers have responded to reports of 2 young males dangling over a bridge that runs over the M57 shortly after 11am today.
"We can't stress enough the dangers around children playing on motorway bridges including dangling over the motorway which could prove fatal."
Parents, meanwhile, have been urged to check where their children are and what they are doing during the school break.
The statement added: "Parents, this is probably a good time to check in with your children and see exactly what they are up to."
