FORMER Saints skipper Paul Sculthorpe does not see a way back into rugby league for reigning Man of Steel Ben Barba.
The former Saints full back has been deregistered by the NRL after an alleged assault on his partner outside a Townsville casino.
Barba was immediately sacked by the North Queensland Cowboys - with the RFL stating that they will uphold any ban passed by the NRL.
Writing in his column this week, Sculthorpe stated: "It’s so disappointing to see this, especially after the way Ben carried himself during his 12 months in Super League.
"Unfortunately though, some players just don’t realise the opportunities that they have and the responsibility to act accordingly.
"I honestly can’t see any way back for him this time…sadly a complete waste of an outstanding talent."
