FIRE crews have been called to a car fire on the St Helens Linkway this morning.
A vehicle on fire has been seen on the Linkway opposite the Range, with smoke billowing across the carriageway.
Glass has been blown out of the front of the car.
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said they received a report at 11.10am and a fire engine has been called to the scene.
Police have also attended.
She added: "We were alerted at 11.10am and on the scene at 11.17am.
"We have one engine at the scene, on the Linkway, near McDonald's and Cineworld.
"A Volvo is on fire opposite McDonald's.
"Crews are using a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire."
