THE Rugby Football League says it is "looking into" an incident in which a match ball was reportedly thrown into the Saints crowd during Sunday's Challenge Cup semi-final at Bolton.
Fans took to social media about the alleged incident, in which it is claimed Catalans Dragons' forward Kenny Edwards hurled a ball into the Saints section of the crowd at the University of Bolton Stadium.
It has been reported the ball struck a woman and a four-year-old girl and caused a drink to spill over them.
The alleged incident took place during the second half of the match following a try scored by Catalans' Sam Moa at the opposite end of the field.
An RFL spokesperson said: "We have been made aware of the incident and we are looking into it."
Saints lost the semi-final 35-16 to the French side, who progressed to the Wembley final later this month.
