A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm after a man was taken to hospital with a head injury.

Police cordons are still in place this morning on Four Acre Lane, on the junction with Burnage Avenue, following reports at 7.30pm last night, Thursday, April 19.

A man was found a short distance away with a head injury and taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault and is currently in custody where he will be questioned by detectives.

An investigation is ongoing into the circumstances and a cordon remained on the street this morning.

Detective Inspector Matt Smith said: “An investigation is underway into the circumstances of what took place last night.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the vicinity of Four Acre Lane and Burnage Road who may have seen anything or has any information which could assist the investigation to contact us.”
