THE funeral of 73-year-old Liz Taylor, who died after being hit by a lorry when crossing the road in Rainford Village, has been set for Friday, August 11.
The service will take place at All Saints Church, Rainford, where Liz was a volunteer and member of the congregation.
Reverend of the church, Janet Heighton, said the service would be an opportunity for those from the village who have been affected by the tragedy, to pay their respects.
After the incident, family and community leaders paid tribute to Liz.
Her daughter Emma said: "Liz was a retired teacher who lived locally for over 30 years.
"A loving mother of two children and one grandchild.
"Liz will be sorely missed by all of her family and her many friends."
Revd Heighton said she had been walking with Liz in Hale the Saturday before the incident, and said she would always remember Liz's smile.
She added: "She was a lovely lady, very active and fun to be with."
Chairman of Rainford Parish Council, Councillor David Grice, said: "I have lived in Rainford all my life and this is one of the most tragic accidents."
The incident happened on Wednesday, July 19 at around 11am on 20mph Church Road, which runs by a row of shops between Cross Pit Lane and the junction of Church Road and Southerns Lane.
The HGV involved in the incident was stopped by police seven miles away in Haydock on the East Lancashire Road between Millfield Lane and Haydock Lane, near to the Asda collection point.
Following the incident, investigations took place at two scenes – one in Rainford and the other in Haydock.
Police said the driver of the HGV was assisting with the investigation and the investigation is ongoing.
A floral tribute was left near the scene on Church Road.
The funeral will start at 1.30pm.
