LADIES Day at Haydock Park Racecourse promises fashion, style and music alongside the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Style Stakes competition.
Organisers are calling on Star readers to get their gladrags on and head to the glamorous event, which takes place on Saturday, August 12.
Olympic gold medalist and Jockey Club North West ambassador Sam Quek will head up the Style Stakes judging panel alongside Betfred representative Caroline Davies and Haydock Park committee member Jemima Ockleston.
Women and men can enter the ‘most stylish individual’ competition to have a chance of being crowned winner of the Betfred Rose of Lancaster Style Stakes and win a £2,000 holiday voucher.
In addition to the most stylish individual, there will be an award for the ‘most stylish group’ who will win a VIP hospitality experience at Ladies Day at the Randox Health Grand National Festival on April 13, 2018.
Jason Fildes, general manager of Haydock Park, said: “The Rose of Lancaster Stakes Ladies Day is one of my favourite days in the racing calendar.
“It’s always great to see everyone make such an effort and enjoy a stylish day out at Haydock.
“It’s a pleasure to have Olympic star and Jockey Club North West ambassador Sam Quek headlining the panel of judges this year and we are excited to be hosting such a glamorous Style Stakes competition.”
On the day, racegoers can enter the competition by having a picture taken in a style pod located near the Kauto Star Statue within the racecourse. Photos can be kept as a souvenir.
Not only will the day be centred around the latest fashion trends and style, but also around top class horse racing. Last year Royal Artillery, trained by John Gosden, won the Grade 1, Rose of Lancaster Stakes whilst Emma Sayer had a successful win in the Ladies Derby on I Am Not Here, trained by her mother, Dianne Sayer.
After racing, DJ Jo Whiley will be performing a Party in the Paddock and during the racing, the Makerfield Lawn stage will see local band ‘The Soundettes’ entertaining the crowds.
