POLICE have launched an investigation after a fire in a car last night.
The blaze started at around 10.30pm outside the Red Lion pub, Sutton. Fire crews attened to the blaze for around 45 minutes.
Merseyside Police also attended the scene on Waterdale Crescent.
A police spokesman said: "A Renault was on fire and patrols attended. Enquiries are ongoing this morning to establish the circumstances behind it."
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "We were on scene at 10.20pm and were there until just after 11.15pm.
"We had one engine out there. It was a single car fire and they put it out using hose reels."
