JOHNNY Vegas spread laughter to the children’s wards at Whiston Hopsital.
The comedian, joined by monkey sidekick who he stars alongside in PG tips adverts, attended the hospital to make a donation of Lego to charity Fairy Bricks.
The organisation aims to brighten the lives of sick children through play and have donated hundreds of pounds worth of Lego toys to hospitals around the country.
After visiting the hospital, Johnny, who is due to become a father for the second time later this year, said: “I have had an absolutely amazing afternoon, with a fantastic bunch of kids, surrounded by an amazing team dedicated to their care and happiness.
“Three cheers for the amazing staff at Whiston Hospital and a huge thank you to Fairy Bricks for donating the Lego for the children.”
Matron Janet Bentham added: “On behalf of the children and everyone here at the hospital I would like to thank Johnny and Fairy Bricks for their fantastic support.
“It was lovely to see how excited the children were opening all the toys and they thoroughly enjoyed building the Lego with Johnny, he certainly put a smile on all of their faces.”
