THE COURTEENERS have come a long way since their critically acclaimed 2008 debut album St. Jude.
While the last album was not as well received as the band had hoped, new record Anna is a return to form and showcases the band’s perfected sound.
Stepping away from the white-noise that is independent rock ‘n’ roll, the Courteeners have found their own voice on this record.
Opening track Are You In Love With A Notion, kickstarts the album in an ear-pleasing clash of quirky lyrics and uplifting melodies.
Liam Fray’s brilliant songwriting ability can be heard throughout the record, notably on Save Rosemary In Time.
A magnificent display of a band who have matured like a good cheddar, Anna is a must-buy of 2013.
