Andrew has been an editor in local and regional journalism for nearly a decade. He is responsible for leading the St Helens Star, Wirral Globe and Leigh Journal and has also previously edited the Runcorn & Widnes World. Andrew has led titles to industry honours at the O2 North West Media Awards and to shortlistings at the prestigious Regional Press Awards. He has overseen the dramatic digital growth of the news brands' audience and the development of the newspapers from a freesheet model to one that is sold across various news outlets. After joining his hometown newspaper, the St Helens Star in 2001 as a trainee, Andrew progressed to become NQJ qualified and went on to hold the positions of chief reporter, news editor and deputy editor before taking his first editorship in St Helens in 2014. In 2023, Andrew became the first UK-based journalist to graduate from the University of Central Lancashire's prestigious MA in Journalism Innovation and Leadership.
